Kisha Edwards-Gandsy

 

is a full-time writer and successful entrepreneur. She is the Co-Founder of NY City Explorers Group, a collective of family-focused childcare companies. For the past ten years, she has led her companies to marked growth which include the founding of NY City Explorers PreK Academy, a private preschool located in the historic Brooklyn Friends Meeting House; Backpacks & Binoculars, a discovery and travel-based school-aged camp and afterschool program; and Bag-of-Tricks Babysitting, an in-home and special event sitting agency with a client list which includes The Waldorf Astoria, AOL, The Times Square Marriott Marquis, and The Kabballah Center.

 

She has designed curricula for children of all ages including her signature classes Miles, Marley, & Mozart and Hip to the Hop. She is working on her first book: The Mattress Chronicles and her debut family music album Spearman Road along with Grammy Award-Winning Family Entertainer Dan Zanes. She is a member of The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, The National Association for the Education of Young Children, and The Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators.  Originally from rural Pelzer, SC, Kisha moved to NYC to study Dramatic Writing at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, and now resides in Brooklyn, NY.
